Responsibilities:
- Transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using forklifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment.
- Responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
- Use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required
- Follow instructions from foreman and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Ability to lead an apprentice on smaller projects
- Support and work in tandem with team members on various small/large projects
- Read and understand design layouts and blueprints
- Keep the job site clean and well-organized
- Handle the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
- Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards
- Fuel and wash department vehicles
Requirements:
- Mechanically inclined with common hand tools (tape measure, etc.)
- Basic math and geometry knowledge
- Rigger 1 certified and qualified
- Align equipment or machinery
- Stick (Arc) welding
- Forming & grouting machine bases
- Ability to work effectively with all personality types
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
- Self-directed and can work independently
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements:
- Rigger 2 certified & qualified
- Chauffeur license & DOT Med card
Equipment experience:
- Aerial – Lift Operation – Boom Lift (Preferred)
- Aerial – Lift Operation – Scissor Lift (Preferred)
- Forklift Operation – Material handling up to 140,000# (Preferred)
- Telehandler (Preferred)
- Overhead crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO – Preferred)
- Mobile crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO – Preferred)
- Lock – Out Tag – Out (Preferred)
- Transit (Preferred)
- Theodolite (Preferred)
- Shaft alignment equipment (Preferred)
- Robotic total (Station)
- Precision measuring equipment (/OD micrometers, calipers, dial indicators – Preferred)
- Precision laser alignment equipment
- Trailer loading and securing of material
Rigging Requirements:
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings.
- Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines
- Identifies common load configurations & positioning
- Rigger 1 training – trains on above
