Use industrial electrical and mechanical expertise at McCain Foods’ Grand Falls Fry Plant to troubleshoot packaging systems. Work independently while supporting operators and mechanics.
This Packaging Technician position serves a manufacturing operation requiring dependable equipment maintenance and practical problem-solving. McCain Foods (Canada) welcomes a licensed Industrial Electrician or Industrial Mechanic willing to pursue dual-trade certification. Duties include packaging equipment troubleshooting, mechanic coaching, operator training, and Planner coverage. The schedule features nine-hour rotating shifts Monday through Friday, with nights and weekends possible when covering absences.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and operational packaging issues
- Maintain packaging and palletizing equipment
- Support Tray Pack equipment operation and maintenance
- Coach packaging mechanics during assigned work
- Train production operators on packaging equipment
- Licensed Industrial Electrician or Industrial Mechanic certification
- Interest in completing a second-trade apprenticeship program
- Experience performing similar work considered
- Packaging equipment experience considered an asset
- Diligent, self-motivated, and attentive to details
