One of Equinox Gold's cornerstone Canadian assets, the Valentine Gold Mine (VGM) is a new, world-class, long-life gold mine located in the central region of Newfoundland and Labrador. The mine achieved first gold in September 2025 and commercial production in November 2025 and, when operating at full capacity, will be the largest gold mine in Atlantic Canada and a significant economic driver and employer in the province.

Equinox VGM is currently inviting applications for a Social Responsibility Coordinator to join our growing team as the company ramps up mine operations and production.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent, Social Responsibility, this position will be responsible for providing a range of professional and high-quality support for services, projects, and programs with a focus on excellence in process and engagement. In addition, the Social Responsibility Coordinator is responsible to assist in the planning, preparation, and promotion of programs, services, and events.

This position is located in Grand Falls-Windsor with ad hoc travel to the Mine site.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong partnerships with all stakeholders.
  • Administration of the stakeholder grievance process.
  • Assist in implementation of stakeholder and Indigenous agreements.
  • Assist and/or participation on agreement committees as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Sustainability Report and/or other reports as required.
  • Tracking of community investments, sponsor ships and donations.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
  • Manage and maintain stakeholder engagement records.
  • Assist in the preparation of agendas and briefings for stakeholder meetings and produce minutes of meetings ensuring all information is properly recorded.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of trade shows, job fairs, etc.
  • Other related duties as required.
Education And Experience Required
  • Post-Secondary degree in social sciences, public administration, community development, or other related field or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in community development and stakeholder engagement in the extractives sector preferred.
Skills And Knowledge
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional ability to effectively deal with a variety of stakeholder requests and issues.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and stakeholder engagement/reporting software (e.g. Borealis)
  • Experience/knowledge of Indigenous groups in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Willing to lead in a diverse environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the mining industry an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and driver's abstract are required.
