Journeyperson​/Apprentice Welder

Exploits Welding & Machine Shop Ltd. is now accepting applications for Journeyperson / Apprentice Welders. We are looking for individuals who have a desire to do precision work, learn a trade which is in high demand, and to grow professionally in a career within our company. We are ideally looking for welders who have completed their Journey persons but will also consider third year Apprentices.

• Read and understand blueprints and drawings to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set-up and operate various welding equipment such as welders, gougers, grinders, shears & breaks, and other types of equipment.
• Repair and fabricate various projects as required.
• Perform TIG and structural welding on projects as required.
• Other duties as required.

• Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Candidates must have a valid Red Seal Journeyperson’s certificate or an Apprentice.
• Candidates must be willing and able to obtain their CWB certification during their employment.
• Journeyperson – Minimum of 2 years’ experience required; ideal candidates would have at least 5 years.
• Apprentice – No experience required.
• Fabrication experience is a huge asset.
• Excellent math and mechanical skills/aptitude.
• Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and exhibit a positive can-do attitude.
• Work well unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
• Demonstrate a desire and ability to do precision work to ensure successful project delivery.
• Candidates must be safety conscious and support the Company’s safety, quality, and environmental programs.

• Completion of safety courses; WHMIS 2015, Forklift Training, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.
• Valid Driver’s License
