- $40,000 - $42,000 Annual, Dependent on Experience, Exempt
- 40 hours per week, 11 month (August 16 - July 15)
- This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus
- Meet with students on a regular basis for academic, personal, and career advising Tasks involved in fulfilling the above duties/responsibilities (include description for physical and mental/cognitive demands)
- Visit target schools regularly and provide students with personal, career, and academic counseling
- Advise students on course selection for high school graduation and college acceptance
- Help with ACT registration and preparation, financial aid forms, college selection, admission and housing forms.
- Help students develop and set short and long term goals.
- Keep school personnel informed about student progress and activities through regular visits, phone calls, and/or letters.
- Develop and coordinate activities/assignments during the academic year and curriculum during the summer session.
- Coordinate and participate in administration and interpretation of standardized tests, inventories, and other assessments.
- Teach and assist classes during the summer program as needed.
- Develop and coordinate assignments for activities such as seminars, field trips, etc.
- Coordinate curriculum for summer program
- Coordinate summer teaching staff to implement curriculum
- Assist in planning and implementing the summer program.
- Assist with planning and supervision of educational/recreational/cultural activities.
- Assist with the supervision of summer staff.
- Assist in developing monthly assignments, including math, science, writing, reading, study skill, and career exploration.
- Review completed assignments for stipends.
- Plan, schedule, and accompany students on educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
- Strong communication skills, demonstrated leadership and logistical skills, and creativity
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- May 2026 graduates will be considered
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Experience in teaching/advising and curriculum/testing for high school-age students.
- Experience in postsecondary preparation (academic advising, financial aid, enrollment, etc.).
- Experience networking with public school and university personnel.
- Experience with TRIO Programs.
- Background/experience working with low-income, first-generation populations.
- Experience in the use, development, and implementation of technology/digital resources
