Prevention & Education Campus Coordinator

The Prevention & Education Campus Coordinator advances violence prevention and healthy relationship education at the University of North Dakota. The role develops and facilitates prevention programs, coordinates campus awareness initiatives, builds partnerships with students and campus communities, and supports efforts to foster a culture of safety, respect, healthy relationships, and bystander action.

This position requires an innovative, organized, and collaborative professional passionate about prevention education and student engagement. Working with students, faculty, staff, campus departments, and community partners, the Coordinator identifies needs and develops engaging, relevant educational and awareness programming.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or a degree in a relevant discipline will also be considered. The ideal candidate is a productive, detail-oriented professional with initiative, a high degree of adaptability and effective communication and prioritization skills. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, have access to personal transportation and be willing to travel from campus office to meetings and trainings as needed.

Effective public speaking, experience/knowledge in interpersonal violence prevention and project coordination are preferred.

COMPENSATION: $18.50-$27.76 per hour based on education and experience. A generous leave package including annual leave, sick leave and personal days; 11 paid holidays; health, dental, vision, and life insurance; mileage reimbursement for travel, 403 (b) with employer match; and potential eligibility for federal student loan forgiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES Campus Prevention, Education, Training and Awareness Projects
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver prevention education workshops and training presentations to University of North Dakota students, faculty, staff, student organizations, and other campus and community audiences as needed.
  • Develop and modify prevention curricula, training materials, presentations, activities, tabling events, promotional materials and handouts.
  • Conduct outreach and build collaborative working relationships with student organizations, residence life, campus departments, faculty, staff, and other campus groups.
  • Identify emerging issues, trends, and student needs that may inform the development of prevention programming.
  • Support prevention initiatives designed to promote healthy relationships, positive communication, respect, and safety.
  • Coordinate and participate in campus awareness campaigns and events related to violence prevention and healthy relationships including Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month and other relevant awareness campaigns.
  • Represent CVIC at campus events, student programs, outreach activities as needed.
  • Attend and manage after-hours events as needed.
Prevention Peer Supervision
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and provide ongoing supervision, guidance, mentorship and development opportunities to Prevention Peers.
  • Coordinate Prevention Peer activities, projects, outreach, and participation in campus events.
  • Review and approve Prevention Peer programming, educational materials, and outreach activities as appropriate.
Record Keeping and Program Evaluation
  • Utilize data systems to maintain accurate and timely records of presentations, trainings, events, outreach activities, and program participation to generate program evaluation reports.
  • Collect and compile program and training data to complete quarterly outcome measurement reports.
  • Coordinate the collection and compilation of program evaluations and participant feedback to inform curriculum development and continuous improvement of prevention programming.
Committees and Meetings
  • Attend CVIC meetings and serve on CVIC committees as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings, planning efforts, and other activities with the Civil Rights & Title IX Office as outlined through the CVIC and UND partnership.
  • Participate in campus and community committees, coalitions, and collaborative groups related to violence prevention, student well-being, healthy relationships, and other areas relevant to the position.
