We are partnering with a fast-growing, international manufacturing business that is expanding its footprint in the United States. With significant investment and ambitious growth plans, the organisation is building a brand-new technical capability to support large-scale industrial operations.
As part of this expansion, they are seeking a Technical Director to set the vision and lead the technical function in the US. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a technical department from the ground up, oversee major capital projects, and play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation’s North American operations.
Key Responsibilities- Define and implement the long-term technical strategy aligned with business growth and investment plans
- Lead, build and develop a multi-disciplinary technical team (engineering, design, automation)
- Oversee the delivery of major capital investment projects (>$500m), ensuring time, budget and quality targets are met
- Translate investment plans into clear project roadmaps, milestones and technical standards
- Establish and manage relationships with contractors, suppliers and technical partners across the US
- Drive innovation, standardisation and continuous improvement across processes, technologies and methodologies
- Ensure strong risk management, safety, environmental and compliance standards across all technical activities
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or similar)
- 10+ years’ experience in technical/engineering roles within manufacturing or industrial environments
- 5+ years in senior leadership managing large technical teams and capital projects
- Greenfield Project expansion preferred
- Proven experience delivering large-scale investment projects and technical strategy
- Strong leadership, coaching and team-building capabilities in fast-growth environments
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to the North Dakota area and travel as required - relocation within the US will be supported.
