* Automation Technicians support Project Managers and System Engineers with creating, installing, and commissioning PLC/HMI/SCADA based systems, as well as network and device integration work.
** Essential Functions and Responsibilities:*
* The following duties are typical for this job. These are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assist with project programming, start-up, and commissioning of new PLC/HMI/SCADA control systems, as well as service and maintenance of existing installations, fault diagnosis, hardware repairs, and programming bug fixes on customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems on jobs, providing reports to Project Management or Operations Leaders via email, SharePoint, One Drive, or other repositories.
- Attend project kickoff and turnover meetings with Project Managers to understand project scope and documentation.
- Organize and maintain control submittal redlines and submit to design engineers for as-built drawing creation after review.
- Collaborate with other technicians to develop and share technical solutions.
- Participate in technician training to stay updated on new products, tools, and integrations through continuing education.
Education & Experience:

*
- Minimum of three years of experience with PLC/HMI control systems preferred.
- Or an A.A.S degree in Robotics, Automation, Technology, or in the process of completion.
* Competencies:
*
*
- Knowledge of at least one PLC software (e.g., Rockwell RSLogix, Studio 5000, etc.).
- Knowledge of at least one HMI software (e.g., Rockwell Factory Talk View, Wonderware InTouch, etc.).
- SCADA knowledge preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Windows Office applications and repositories (One Drive, SharePoint, GIT).
- Optional:
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other database applications. - Understanding of Ethernet and serial network communication.
- Basic understanding of process controls like PID loops, motor control, and device commissioning.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel to customer locations for overnight work (~25%).

- Prolonged sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of 20 pounds.
- Field interactions on construction sites, requiring standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
- Occasional exposure to varying weather conditions.
