Material Testing Technician

The Material Testing Technician role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to roadway and transportation infrastructure quality across western North Dakota. • Perform construction materials testing activities in both field and laboratory environments.
• Inspect and test soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete materials for compliance.
• Document and communicate testing results accurately and consistently.
• Support roadway and transportation construction projects throughout assigned locations.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams during project delivery.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate testing records and support quality assurance processes.

• Candidates must demonstrate prior experience in construction materials testing environments.
• Experience performing field or laboratory testing activities is required.
• Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license for project related travel.
• Candidates should demonstrate ability to repeatedly lift up to fifty pounds.
• ACI Level One Certification is strongly preferred for this position.
• Highway testing certifications including soils, aggregate, or asphalt credentials provide advantage.
• Experience working on transportation department projects is highly desirable.
• Candidates must complete background and driving record evaluations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
