Job Summary
General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA‑SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA‑SI is a leading‑edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design. This position is responsible for managing and planning the daily operations of avionics manufacturing including maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of electronic and mechanical devices used for air vehicles, ground control stations, ground data terminals and ground support equipment.
Manages activities to meet production safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives while ensuring FAA maintenance requirements are met. Oversees day‑to‑day activities including planning, training, supervision, and work assignments of avionics personnel. May accomplish objectives through subordinate management and/or professional staff. May be responsible for decisions that have a serious impact on outcomes such as changes to project schedules and/or allocation of resources.
and Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, scheduling, and activities of avionics operations to achieve business, safety, quality, and financial objectives and to support delivery commitments.
- Lead activities with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure proper hardware and software configurations.
- Develop methods to improve product quality, reliability and efficiency while inspecting work in progress and finished products.
- Manage the schedule and technical efforts of avionics technicians to support company and customer operations off‑site.
- At the Flight Operations Facility (FOF), manage testing and inspection of software and hardware changes at the system level to ensure flight safety. Manage maintenance and inspection schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments (integration, pilots, maintenance, mechanics) to ensure production delivery and flight test schedules are met.
- Develop and manage appropriate procedures and standards for training and flight line operations at the FOF.
- Represent the organization with outside vendors and/or customers.
- Participate in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of required management, professional, and technical talent.
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ensure all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever business is conducted on behalf of the Company; ensure work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Additional functions: other duties as assigned or required.
- Requires a Bachelors degree in a related technical field and eleven or more years of progressive professional experience in manufacturing processes and procedures, planning, scheduling, and budget management; equivalent experience may substitute education.
- Must demonstrate an in‑depth technical understanding of avionics principles and practices.
- Must have comprehensive project management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
- Must have the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data, and develop innovative solutions to moderately complex problems; strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are essential for documenting, reporting, and presenting findings to a variety of audiences.
- May be required to represent the company on external projects, work extended hours, and travel as needed.

Salary range: 91,090 – 166,300
