Engineering Technician I
Minnkota Power Cooperative is seeking applicants for the position of Engineering Technician I in the Power Delivery Department at our headquarters in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This entry-level role involves working with engineering records and drawings, supporting project activities, and maintaining project documentation.
Essential Responsibilities- Computer-aided drafting and design: provide CAD and drafting of civil, communications, electrical, and mechanical drawings; develop drawings using discipline-specific design software; utilize and maintain drafting standards; provide efficient plotting and project package preparation; develop wiring and panel layout drawings from electrical schematics; customize AutoCAD programs.
- Storage/filing of technical records: scan and add incoming hardcopy and electronic technical documents to the document management database; maintain and update project hard copy files; retrieve technical information and drawings; contact vendors and OEMs for equipment information.
- Assist in the development of the document management database: scan and add archived hardcopy documents; format electronic documents and add to the database.
- Assist with engineering work and inspections: assist engineering staff with design or testing functions; assist with engineering project tasks as assigned; provide on-site inspections as needed.
- Capital project management: assist project managers in record-keeping of projects; monthly update project cost and progression information; assist in development and maintenance of project schedules using project accounting software.

- Education:
Minimum associate degree from any technical field, preferably with a drafting component. - Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Experience:
Entry level; previous relevant experience considered. Some experience in AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
Physical: primarily sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and frequent keyboard/computer use. Vision: close, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Mental: problem solve, read, write, analyze data, work under schedule and deadline pressure, present information, work independently, use discretion and judgment for confidential or sensitive projects.
Work Environment:
Office indoors; may travel outdoors to multiple locations depending on work.

Salary: $24.45 per hour, commensurate with skills, education and experience.
