A Clearance Jobs client is seeking to expand its team in support of next-generation, mission-critical government and space-related programs. This organization focuses on delivering secure, end-to-end technical solutions across highly regulated environments, enabling rapid deployment, operational resilience, and compliance with classified system requirements. The client is seeking a System Administrator responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. Government requirements for computer systems processing classified information.
The selected candidate will support classified system efforts and perform tasks including hardware and software configuration management (to include baseline configuration), risk and vulnerability assessments, testing and documenting security controls, and ensuring overall cybersecurity compliance. The ideal candidate has experience administering systems across multiple platforms, takes initiative in cross-functional collaboration, and is comfortable working with stakeholders to meet stringent system security requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical inputs as needed for ground assets supporting classified systems Assist with deployment and configuration of collection services and tools Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements into systems throughout production and operational phases Continuously evaluate and maintain system baselines in compliance with accreditation requirements Maintain system boundary security configurations, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, DISA STIG implementation, and other required security configurations Perform systems administration tasks associated with cybersecurity controls in accordance with regulatory guidance and contractual requirements Assist with validation and remediation of network servers, routers, and switches to ensure compliance with security policies and technical requirements Support the establishment of Secured Host Baseline (SHB) images across multiple operating systems using DISA STIGs Conduct vulnerability testing using tools such as ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, and STIGs, and remediate findings within required timelines Perform system backups and configure backup repositories in accordance with system monitoring plans Develop authorization boundary diagrams, architecture diagrams, and hardware/software inventories in coordination with network teams Perform system administration activities related to Continuous Monitoring (Con Mon) Ensure proper archival, sanitization, or disposal of hardware, software, data, and facilities in alignment with system security plans Participate in change management processes and assess security impact of proposed changes Report all security-related concerns and system changes Provide proactive system administration support Support network troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with network architecture teams Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or related field or 10 years of directly related experience 2–5 years of systems administration experience supporting U.S. Government or U.S. Government contractor environments Security+ certification or equivalent Active Top Secret clearance or higher Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems Hands-on experience with DISA STIGs, SRGs, and SCAP for secure system configuration PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with antivirus solutions, vulnerability assessment tools, HIDS/NIDS, McAfee HBSS, MFA, SIEM platforms (Splunk preferred), and centralized auditing tools Experience supporting both standalone and LAN/WAN system environments Ability to remediate security vulnerabilities through malware identification, containment, and eradication Independent capability to identify and assess system vulnerabilities Experience conducting software due diligence on COTS and GOTS solutions Knowledge of IT security principles (firewalls, DMZs, encryption, etc.)
Knowledge of PKI, MFA, and identity/entitlements management Working knowledge of virtualization technologies Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (Power Shell, Python, Bash) Operational knowledge of switches, routers, and firewalls Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of completing tasks independently BENEFITS
