The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the assigned projects from planning to closing in collaboration with and under the direction of the Executive Director, technology. The Project Manager will also be required to properly track and monitor all project activities. The responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure that the projects are flawlessly executed and delivered on time, within scope and budget.
Reporting will also be a key role of the Project Manager ensuring that project update reports are submitted in a timely manner so that presentations can be made to the Executive Team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance, Computer Science or a related field.
- Formal training in Project Management.
- Recognized Project Management Certification (PMP or Prince2).
- Experience or certification in Agile Project Management would be an asset.
- At least three (3) years of work experience in Project Management.
- Excellent skills in PowerPoint and Data Analysis tools (Excel).
- Familiarity with Project Management tools and Process Mapping Software desirable (i.e. MS Project, MS Visio).
- Experience in Project Proposal Writing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface with multiple groups, including internal resources and external professional service providers.
- Track record of concurrently handling a variety of projects while supporting the efforts of cross‑functional team members.
- Should have a background in business skills, budgeting and analysis.
- Willing to travel on company business as needed.
- Passion, drive, and commitment to creating results.
- Comfortable dealing with constant changes, and an ever‑evolving working environment.
- Highly motivated self‑starter able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Visual communicator who can distil complicated messages.
- Ability to handle multiple, differing responsibilities simultaneously and to focus on delivering against areas of greatest importance.
- Ability to manage through influence to drive results and accountability from internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to motivate team and drive stakeholder engagement.
- Comfortable with coordinating and collaborating with business teams to drive required decisions and outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Develop detailed Project Plans with all the critical components to track progress.
- Proactively perform Risk, Communication, Change and Quality Management.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Schedule and facilitate cross‑departmental project meetings including deck preparation and note dissemination.
- Manage the project team dynamics and ensure that the assigned deliverables are achieved.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Collaborate with Department Leads to confirm when their deliverables are on target, off target or out of scope.
- Plan, monitor and control projects to deliver the combined business benefits.
- Deliver and track the assigned project tasks, critical path and resources.
- Recognize and articulate problems related to projects.
- Apply creativity and judgment in the development of solutions.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and elevate to management as needed.
- Accountable for monitoring all work within the scope of the projects to ensure all work is completed on time, within scope and within budget.
- Track and monitor project budgets and spending; work closely with the Finance Department to manage this area.
- As appropriate, challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with a view towards enhancement and improvement.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Overtime may be required though the position is exempt from overtime pay.
- Overseas travel may be required from time to time.
