Ready for a Change? We'll Teach You the Rest.

Maybe you've worked in general labor, landscaping, restaurants, retail, warehouses, or another job where you learned how to work hard, show up, and be part of a team.

You don't need manufacturing experience to turn those skills into a career with us.

American Woods manufactures high-quality residential wood furniture right here in Grand Forks. Our team builds cabinets, tables, bed frames, dressers, bookshelves, and other solid wood furniture from start to finish.

We're growing our production team and are currently focused on hiring for our Milling and Press departments
, with additional opportunities in Final Assembly and Shipping.

Where We’re Hiring

Milling
Work with raw wood components early in our manufacturing process. Team members learn to operate production machinery and equipment used to prepare and shape parts for furniture production.

Press – Builders & Sanders
Help build furniture components and prepare parts for the next stages of production. These roles involve hand-on assembly, sanding, inspecting parts, and working with tools and equipment.

Final Assembly
Put the finishing pieces together. Final Assembly team members install cabinet doors, drawers, drawer fronts, hardware, and other components before completed furniture moves to Shipping.

Shipping
Help prepare completed furniture for its trip to the customer. This position involves handling finished products, preparing orders, and helping ensure furniture leaves our facility safely and accurately.

What You Can Expect

Depending on your position and department, you may:

  • Operate production machinery, equipment, and hand tools
  • Build, sand, prepare, or assemble wood furniture components
  • Load, unload, and move materials or parts
  • Inspect your work for quality and accuracy
  • Follow established work instructions and production processes
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
  • Work with your team to meet daily production goals
  • Learn additional equipment and production skills as you grow

Never worked in manufacturing before? That's okay.

We provide on-the-job training. Mechanical aptitude or previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but it isn't required.

What Matters to Us

We're looking for people who:

  • Show up reliably and on time
  • Are ready to work and willing to learn
  • Take pride in doing quality work
  • Can follow verbal and written instructions
  • Pay attention to details
  • Are comfortable working on their feet throughout the day
  • Have good hand and wrist dexterity
  • Can work safely and productively in a manufacturing environment

We can teach someone how to do the job. We're looking for people who bring the reliability, effort, and attitude to learn it.

Pay & Schedule

These positions start at $18-$20 per hour
, depending on the role.

Current production schedule: Monday-Friday with a 6:00 AM start time. End times vary based on production needs and are currently approximately 2:30 PM-3:30 PM.

That means no rotating shifts and, under our normal production schedule,
your evenings and weekends are yours.

Why American Woods?
  • Monday-Friday day shift
  • Weekly pay
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Medical benefits with employer contributions
  • 401(k) with company match
  • On-the-job training
  • Opportunities to learn additional skills and equipment
  • Opportunities for advancement and wage growth

If you're dependable, like working with your hands, and want a steady Monday-Friday job where you can learn a skilled manufacturing process,

Whether you already have manufacturing experience or you're ready to try something completely different, we'd like to hear from you.

American Woods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
