Maybe you've worked in general labor, landscaping, restaurants, retail, warehouses, or another job where you learned how to work hard, show up, and be part of a team.
You don't need manufacturing experience to turn those skills into a career with us.
American Woods manufactures high-quality residential wood furniture right here in Grand Forks. Our team builds cabinets, tables, bed frames, dressers, bookshelves, and other solid wood furniture from start to finish.
We're growing our production team and are currently focused on hiring for our Milling and Press departments
, with additional opportunities in Final Assembly and Shipping.
Milling
Work with raw wood components early in our manufacturing process. Team members learn to operate production machinery and equipment used to prepare and shape parts for furniture production.
Press – Builders & Sanders
Help build furniture components and prepare parts for the next stages of production. These roles involve hand-on assembly, sanding, inspecting parts, and working with tools and equipment.
Final Assembly
Put the finishing pieces together. Final Assembly team members install cabinet doors, drawers, drawer fronts, hardware, and other components before completed furniture moves to Shipping.
Shipping
Help prepare completed furniture for its trip to the customer. This position involves handling finished products, preparing orders, and helping ensure furniture leaves our facility safely and accurately.
Depending on your position and department, you may:
- Operate production machinery, equipment, and hand tools
- Build, sand, prepare, or assemble wood furniture components
- Load, unload, and move materials or parts
- Inspect your work for quality and accuracy
- Follow established work instructions and production processes
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Work with your team to meet daily production goals
- Learn additional equipment and production skills as you grow
Never worked in manufacturing before? That's okay.
We provide on-the-job training. Mechanical aptitude or previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but it isn't required.
