Pay Range: $17.07 - $25.60 per hour

The Nursing Assistant works under the direction of a licensed nurse in the provision of direct patient care, including admission and discharge processes. The role supports admissions, performs procedures following physician orders and nursing delegation, identifies changes in patient condition, and communicates them promptly to the nurse. The assistant assists with basic cares, patient transport, and transfer procedures.

• Contributes to and assists in implementing the plan of care that reflects the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
• Demonstrates competency and ability to carry out department‑specific functions in accordance with the department's standards of care, policies, and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to meet departmental or organizational needs.
• Contributes to the assessment of the health status of patients by collecting vital signs, observing and interviewing, and recording data.
• Identifies basic signs and symptoms of deviations from normal health status and provides information for licensed nurses to identify problems and needs.
• Reports patients’ self-report/symptoms of pain promptly according to standard operating procedure.

• Nurse Aide – North Dakota Board of Health (must be obtained within 4 months of start date).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (must be obtained within 90 days of start date).

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
