Ready to take your nursing education beyond the classroom? Join Altru's 10-week RN Co-Op/Internship Experience and gain hands-on clinical experience while working alongside experienced nurses in a supportive healthcare environment.

This paid summer internship is designed to help nursing students build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and prepare for a successful transition into professional nursing.

Participants will work one-on-one with dedicated preceptors and have opportunities to perform skills aligned with their academic preparation and demonstrated competencies.

  Students will wear their nursing program's designated scrub

• Currently admitted and enrolled in an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
• Completion of at least two semesters of clinical nursing coursework
• Strong academic standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Enrollment in a summer educational work experience credit/course if required by your nursing program

• Provides patient care activities appropriate to educational preparation and demonstrated competence.
• Works closely with assigned RN preceptor(s) to build clinical skills and confidence.
• Participates in patient assessments, care planning, and care delivery as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Follows organizational policies, safety standards, and professional nursing practices.
• Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to learning.

Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Prior to Start Date

• Currently admitted and enrolled in an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
• Completion of at least two semesters of clinical nursing coursework
• Strong academic standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Enrollment in a summer educational work experience credit/course if required by your nursing program
