Meat Director

Job Purpose

The Meat Director at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for overseeing all company meat departments to ensure operational excellence and drive sales growth. This role involves managing purchasing, inventory, merchandising, and pricing strategies, while also ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The Meat Director will play a critical role in creating and implementing weekly ads and promotions, maintaining cutting and presentation guidelines, and collaborating with sales representatives to introduce new items and secure advantageous deals.

• Oversee all meat departments within the company.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, merchandising, and pricing.
• Develop and implement weekly ads and promotional strategies.
• Enforce strict food safety and quality standards.
• Maintain cutting and presentation guidelines.
• Collaborate with sales representatives.
• Monitor market trends.

• College degree and 5 years experience or equivalent combination

• - Meat cutting experience
• - Must have experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
• - Good communication skills both verbally and written
• -Must be proficient in MS Office programs and comfortable working with technology

• - Meat department management experience
• - Experience with multi-store oversight
• - Experience in cost control and staff training responsibilities

• - Strong leadership and team development skills
• - In-depth knowledge of food safety and health regulations
• - Expertise in cost control and inventory management
• - Ability to analyze sales and margins
• - Excellent communication and organizational skills
