We anticipate the need for one or more Temporary Utility Helper positions at our Grand Forks Service Center in Grand Forks, ND. The starting rate of pay for this position is $28.69 hourly.
The anticipated start date for this position will be in March/April and could potentially extend for the remainder of 2026. This job will be posted for five business days from January 15, 2026, to January 21, 2026.

In this position, you can assist in a variety of job functions within Gas Operations. Work ranges from performing leak surveys of our gas system to performing maintenance, installation, and repair of our gas facilities. These positions work with regulation, metering, odorization, customer piping, and below-and-above ground piping.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Previous construction or mechanical work experience

There are two levels of gas helpers: entry level and advanced. In order to be considered for placement in the advanced level, the applicant must meet all requirements outlined above along with work experience in natural gas, polyfusion, possession of a CDL (Class

A), and operation of heavy equipment.

Placement within the two levels will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and need. The applicant is required to successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which includes a security clearance.
