Job Description

This relationship-focused agricultural role serves as a trusted partner to potato growers throughout the Grand Forks region. The Customer Success Manager will spend significant time visiting farms, learning each grower's operation, and providing practical support that strengthens crop performance, supply planning, and the long-term success of smaller and independent farmers. The position combines hands-on agricultural knowledge with strong customer service skills to help growers optimize crop health, quality, yield, and delivery readiness while aligning with business and supply requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective potato growers within approximately 150 miles of Grand Forks.

+ Visit farms, fields, and storage locations regularly to understand grower goals, challenges, crop conditions, and seasonal needs.

+ Provide practical guidance on crop health, quality, yield, harvest timing, storage practices, and delivery readiness to support growers' success.

+ Monitor crop progress through ongoing communication, field observations, and quality checks, and share timely feedback with growers and internal teams.

+ Partner with growers on acreage planning, variety selection, seed needs, production expectations, delivery windows, and quality requirements.

+ Communicate grower agreement terms, pricing, volume needs, and production expectations clearly, professionally, and in a way that builds trust.

+ Identify crop, weather, pest, disease, storage, quality, and supply risks and coordinate timely, practical solutions with growers and internal stakeholders.

+ Help smaller and independent farmers improve performance through consistent follow-up, practical problem-solving, and connecting them with appropriate resources.

+ Coordinate delivery schedules and communicate effectively with transportation and internal teams to support reliable, efficient product flow.

+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date crop forecasts, grower records, seed commitments, quality results, delivery schedules, and follow-up items.

+ Share regional insight regarding crop conditions, potato availability, grower concerns, pricing trends, and potential supply risks to inform planning and decision-making.

Essential Skills

+ Hands-on agricultural experience, such as farming, agronomy, crop production, seed or agricultural sales, crop consulting, field scouting, procurement, or closely related work.

+ Personable and relationship-driven approach, with the ability to connect with farmers, earn trust, listen carefully, and follow through on commitments.

+ Practical understanding of crop production and the seasonal demands of agriculture.

Experience with potatoes or vegetable crops is preferred, including activities such as planting, crop monitoring, harvest, storage, or quality assessment.

+ Ability to work independently, manage a regional schedule, and travel frequently between farms, fields, storage sites, and other locations within approximately 150 miles of Grand Forks.

+ Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and business information clearly and professionally.

+ Solid organization and time-management skills to handle multiple growers, schedules, and follow-up items effectively.

+ Sound judgment and practical problem-solving abilities to address crop, quality, and supply challenges.

+ Ability to balance grower needs with crop quality, supply, timing, and broader business expectations.

+ Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

+ Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams, with the ability to learn additional business systems.
