Job GoalProvide services related to student and family social, emotional, academic, and life functions and overall well-being. Establish positive, trusting, supporting relationships as a foundation to effectively serving students and their families. Provide resources and facilitate activities that promote social skills, peer and adult connection, and individual capacity in a variety of social-emotional competencies.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:- 1. Establish and maintain trusting, collaborative, professional relationships with all students.
- 2. Provide direct practice lessons and services that foster social and emotional competency.
- 3. Mobilize school and community resources to maximize student academic and behavior success;
Identify and connect community services to staff, students, and families. - 4. Provide social-emotional support and counseling related services to individuals, groups, or families.
- 5. Demonstrate cultural competency and trauma informed practices in daily interactions.
- 6. Collaborate with school staff to enhance student learning.
- 7. Contribute to a safe and healthy work and learning culture.
- 8. Provide specialized services such as crisis intervention and consultation as needs arise.
- 9. Maintain student confidentiality and the highest ethical standards
- 10. Other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties;
Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. Ability to manage emotions and provide emotional support during stressful circumstances.
