Controls Engineer - Grand Haven Area

Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

• Design, program, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex automation and control system failures to minimize downtime.
• Optimize existing control systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
• Lead automation projects from concept and design through installation and commissioning.
• Ensure all control systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
• Provide expert technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel.
• Select, configure, and integrate industrial sensors, actuators, and other control hardware.

• Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for industrial automation.
• Proficiency in HMI/SCADA system design and development (e.g., Factory Talk View, Ignition, Wonderware).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues in automated manufacturing systems.
• Experience with industrial robotics, motion control, or machine vision systems.

• Robotics programming and integration experience (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
• Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
• Proficiency in SQL and database integration for manufacturing data.
• Knowledge of industrial network design and cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with simulation software for system validation or optimization.
