Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Analyze and troubleshoot tooling‑related production issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Manage tooling projects from concept through design, procurement, and validation.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling performance, lifespan, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, design, quality) to define tooling requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain comprehensive tooling documentation, specifications, and maintenance schedules.
- Expertise in tool design principles for molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA, Mastercam).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, and CNC machining.
- Knowledge of various tooling materials, heat treatment, and surface finishing techniques.
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement for tooling performance and lifespan.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Experience with automation integration or robotics in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with advanced simulation software (e.g., mold flow analysis, multi‑physics FEA).
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
- Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP).
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling components or prototypes.
