Welding Engineer | Grand Haven, MI
Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Haven that are seeking skilled Welding Engineers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize welding procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
- Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and materials.
- Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications for welding.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and their impact on weld quality.
- Proven ability to develop, qualify, and optimize welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).
- AWS CWI certification
- Experience with robotic welding systems
- Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT)
- Solid Works or other CAD software proficiency
