EHS Manager

Position Summary: Overseeing of all environmental, health, safety and worker's compensation (where applicable) functions necessary to support the organization. Manages any assigned staff, chairs safety teams, executes strategic planning in line with the company strategic plan and goals of the corporation.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

• Manage environmental, health, and safety functions for manufacturing and support operations.
• Ensure areas of responsibility are following TQM, ISO, QS, TS and regulatory (i.e. OSHA/MIOSHA) and compliance requirements.
• Act as management representative for related standards (ISO).
• Execute and support development of a strategic plan that includes all related actions to meet growth, improve operational EHS, and eliminate/reduce EHS incidents and costs.
• Staff Management:
  • Conduct timely and complete performance evaluations of direct associates; and ensure timely and complete performance evaluations of associates reporting under indirect supervision
  • Assess subordinate's skill sets, current and future development needs and take steps to mentor and develop them appropriately
• Identify EHS issues then develop solutions.
• Develop and maintain EHS programs and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Participate in developmental opportunities necessary to stay current with changes in applicable laws and other EHS trends.
• Participate actively in development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of company selected manufacturing software systems as required.
• Develop and deliver educational and training programs as required.
• Consultant, as needed to sister companies and their EHS programs.
• Build and maintain an excellent relationship, emphasizing partnership, with worker's compensation carrier and other vendors.
• Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.
• Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

• Bachelors of Science/Bachelors of Arts in EHS Management or related field.
• 5 years practical experience in EHS or related field.
• Certified safety Professional preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
