Overview

Fabrication Lead (1st shift)

Position Summary

Do you enjoy leading a team by helping them to learn and to achieve goals? We're looking for a motivated and experienced Fabrication Lead to join our growing team and help lead daily work in our metal Fabrication operation. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and has a strong background in metal manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, laser welding and forming.

You will train and help lead a team of operators to meet production goals while upholding the highest standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a team of machine operators and fabricators on the production floor
  • Monitor laser cutting, bending, and welding processes to ensure adherence to production schedules
  • Ensure parts are manufactured to specification using drawings, work instructions, and QC guidelines
  • Train, coach, and provide daily direction to team members to improve productivity and skills
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment including laser cutters and brake presses
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company guidelines
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and production delays to supervisors and maintenance teams, helping to create and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate shift reports
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve finishes, and increase efficiency
  • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, representing the typical expectations for the role

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably with metal fabrication including laser cutting and laser/mig/tig welding
  • Prior experience in a lead, team leader, or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of laser cutting machines (e.g., BLM, Bystronic, Trumpf) and steel forming processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards (GD&T a plus)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and accountability
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems and production tracking tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in a production environment
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels

Working Environment

  • On-site role in a production facility-daily presence on the shop floor is a must
  • Ability to access and navigate all areas of the facilities and perform the above-mentioned responsibilities
  • International travel will be required for training

  • $25.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
