Salary Range: $45,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grand Haven that are seeking CNC Machinists. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications using precision measuring tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and tooling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine operation or product quality.
• Select and load appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for production.
• Optimize machine parameters and programming for efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
• Strong understanding of various cutting tools, materials, and machining processes.
• Ability to perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, Mastercam) for programming and simulation.
• Proficient in operating and troubleshooting with various CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in manufacturing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machinery.
