About the Unit

The Grand Haven Ambulatory Surgical Center is a 1 operating room and 1 Endoscopy suite facility. We have 6 pre/post endoscopy rooms, 12 pre/post OR rooms and 8 PACU bays. Our outpatient surgical center performs esophagogastroduodenoscopies, colonoscopies and offers orthopedic, ENT, general surgery, pain, and gynecological services. All surgeries are outpatient with no weekend or night hours. This unit is a collaborative environment focusing on patient and staff safety and high patient satisfaction.

The Registered Nurse, Procedural possesses advanced education in administering patient sedation and/or monitoring post‑sedation or anesthesia. The RN utilizes extensive patient assessment skills and collaborates with all healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. They perform all activities at an expanded level of nursing practice within the nursing process, maintain ACLS and/or sedation certification, and safely care for patients at risk due to sedation/anesthesia and procedure.

When working with a pediatric population, PALS training is required. In the intra‑op area, the RN maintains a high level of expertise in the cases they assist with. As a peri‑operative nurse, the RN plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self‑care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor’s in Nursing within 5 years (Required)
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) in the last 90 days (Required)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months (Required)
• 1+ years of OR circulator or procedural RN experience (Preferred)
