This full-time, on-site Word Press Programmer/Ninja (Mid‑Senior) role is located in Grand Haven, MI. The role focuses on building, customizing, and maintaining Word Press websites, including theme and plugin development, performance optimization, and site troubleshooting. Day‑to‑day tasks include translating design mockups into responsive, accessible web pages, implementing new features, and integrating third‑party tools and APIs. The programmer will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and account managers to develop solutions that support client goals and align with brand standards.
Responsibilities also include maintaining code quality, adhering to best practices, performing regular updates and backups, and providing technical support for ongoing website enhancements.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts and software development principles.
- Proficiency in Back‑End Web Development and Programming, including PHP, MySQL, and RESTful integrations within Word Press environments.
- Experience with Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern development practices (version control, testing, debugging).
- Hands‑on experience with Word Press theme and plugin development, customization, and performance/security optimization.
- Ability to translate business and design requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on‑site.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (design, marketing, client services) in an agency or similar environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be highly experienced; this isn’t a Word Press developer position, this is a Word Press programmer position where you are comfortable with custom styles, themes, plugins, integrations.
