JOB SUMMARYThe Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Specialist is responsible for tracking inventory, keeping accurate records, packaging, and weighing items, printing shipping labels and postage, inspecting goods received for damage, and distributing products to other departments. All to ensure that our customers needs, both internal and external, are being met in a timely manner.
Position Description
- Prepare items for shipping, noting item contents, packaging and delivery methods, and other logistical details.
- Schedule pick-ups with transportation companies via phone, internet, or customer web portals.
- Navigate carrier software and other specific websites to prepare shipping labels, customs documentation and required compliance documentation, such as commercial invoices, etc.
- Processing inbound/outbound shipments and unloading/loading on their respective carriers
- Identify and resolve shipping, storage, or receiving discrepancies as they arise.
- Gain and maintain an intimate operating knowledge of all processes, work instructions, and available equipment within department required to do assigned tasks.
- Cooperate with cross-functional team members to make changes/improvements as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a shipping/receiving/warehouse environment.
- Proficient computer knowledge and ability:
- Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook

- Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment.
- Ability to gain and maintain a valid forklift driver’s license.
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends.

- Healthy wrist-arm motion – repetitive motion of arms and shoulders
- Required to change from sitting frequently to standing frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
