The Maintenance Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting safety audits, verifying compliance with OSHA and JBS safety standards, and ensuring maintenance personnel follow proper procedures. This role supports a strong safety culture by identifying risks, documenting findings, and driving corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine safety audits on maintenance activities and equipment.
- Verify compliance with Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, and Powered Industrial Truck procedures.
- Document audit results, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion and compliance.
- Audit maintenance employee competency in core safety practices.
- Ensure new hires and current employees understand required safety policies.
- Maintain accurate audit records and communicate findings to management.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Strong mechanical background (welding, power transmission, hydraulics, electrical).
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
