Transportation Project Manager
We are seeking a Transportation Project Manager for our Nebraska Division. This experienced position involves leading complex roadway, highway, and interstate design projects from preliminary to final stages, with 8+ years of experience in design and a strong industry network.
LocationThis role offers flexibility in office location, with a preference for candidates based in central Nebraska. Applicants in Omaha, Lincoln, or Bellevue are also welcome.

:
Lead consultant for the $352 million project, providing environmental assessment, design, geotechnical services, and construction support; 43 miles of roadway, 23 bridges, and multiple interchanges. - US‑81
:
Ongoing four‑lane expressway expansion from York to Columbus; lead consultant providing roadway and bridge design. - US‑26
:
Ongoing project expanding the corridor to a four‑lane expressway between Minatare and US‑385; lead consultant for roadway, drainage, and bridge design.
- Serve as project manager on transportation projects, managing scope, budget, and schedule.
- Lead and mentor project teams and technical staff, including student interns.
- Contribute to Nebraska, regional, and corporate growth initiatives.
- Participate in business development and marketing; prepare SOQs, proposals, and contracts.
- Represent Benesch at industry and professional events.
- Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Present findings through written reports and verbal communication, including public speaking at meetings.
- Assist with grant applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering license in Nebraska, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Excellent communication and client‑relationship skills.
- Experience presenting to elected officials, advisory boards, conferences, and interviews.
- Strong organization and leadership skills.
- Technical analysis experience in transit, multimodal studies, transit grant management, and related areas.
- Project management experience, including cost control, budget oversight, and quality assurance.
- Direct management of project budgeting and execution; supervision of staff and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently and produce complete deliverables.
- Experience in the public bidding process.
