American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Labor & Delivery night shift travel assignment requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and active NE or compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 15 LDRP beds,

• Patient population includes obstetrics, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and pregnancies complicated by hypertension or diabetes,

• AWHONN staffing ratios observed: 1:3 standard, 1:1 for actively laboring patients,

• Facility delivers approximately 400 births per year,

• RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, Mag, and Procardia,

• Charting system is Epic; experience required,

• 12-hour night shifts (6pm-7am),

• Every other weekend required,

• Holiday coverage required based on unit need,

• No on-call or standby requirement,

• Floating is extremely rare and limited to sitter or task duties only when critical staffing is needed,

Job Requirements

• Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted,

• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; pending certifications not accepted,

• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required,

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a copy of your driver's license is required to verify permanent address,

• Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility,

• Candidates who were directly employed (not through an outside firm) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible,

• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 1 week of classroom training followed by 2-3 shifts on the floor,

• A pass/fail open-book exam is administered on the Friday of orientation; a score of 90% or higher is required to continue the assignment,

• The unit holds Blue Distinction+ designation for patient care and maintains high patient experience scores,

• Unit is breastfeeding-friendly,

• A charge nurse is present on every shift; the charge nurse carries a patient assignment,

• Artificial nails are strictly prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination,

• RTO must be submitted upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract will be approved, and additional RTO requests will not be considered after consideration,
