Responsible for performing GMAW tack welding, torch cutting, and layout operations to assemble steel components for final welding. Additionally, the Fitter Welder will conduct GMAW welding processes on production materials in compliance with the required specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and maintain required AWS certifications, including meeting or exceeding the 85% UT pass ratio.
- Assemble steel frames through layout, tack, and final welding, including lifting and positioning heavy components.
- Operate assigned equipment with full knowledge of its capabilities and applicable welding codes, handle machine setup and routine maintenance.
- Complete all job-related paperwork and data entry accurately and manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Capable of working in elevated temperatures while dressed in layered PPE
- Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
- Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
Shift:
- 1st Shift - 6:00am - 4:30pm
- 2nd Shift - 4:30pm 3:00am
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.

Preferred
Strong mathematical abilities, including working with fractions and decimals.
Skilled in interpreting fabrication drawings and data sheets for accurate assembly.
Proficient in using hand tools such as tape measures, squares, protractors, oxy/Acetylene, cutting/plasma torch, and grinding equipment.
Knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication.
