Summary/Primary
Purpose:
Assist clients to our food pantry with the intake process.
- Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
- Secure the necessary client information and enter data into Service Point program.
- Inventory food order from Food Bank of the Heartland and order food as needed.
- Ensure pantry shelves are stocked and the area is neat.
- Sort and stock personal care items.
- Supervise pantry volunteers.
- Run reports for compliance and statistical information, as directed.
- Turn in reports monthly for Food Bank of the Heartland and stats.
- Attend meetings as directed.
- Driving is an essential function of this position.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers
Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
- Administrative skills including utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail, and filing.
- Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Qualifications:
Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Must be able to sit most of the time. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May need to climb or balance or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Need to be able to talk or hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Ability to work with moderate noise in a business office and occasional outdoor tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
