RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend requirement

• Holiday coverage as needed to meet unit needs

• 33-bed stepdown unit with 1:4-5 nurse to patient ratios

• Care for patients ranging from young adults through geriatrics with conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical issues

• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin

• Must read and interpret telemetry strips

• Float to Medical Surgery, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care as needed

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Pass/Fail exam during orientation requiring 90% to pass

• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts on the floor

• Work with BiPAP and Airvo respiratory equipment

• Use EPIC charting system

• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius

• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination

• Handle busy patient flow with admissions and discharges within same shift while completing shift change responsibilities
