Job Overview
Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island is hiring a Part‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a day shift 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. (12 hours) with a rotation on every third weekend and holiday.
Qualifications- 18 years of age or older.
- Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months of experience as an RN or LPN, preferred.
- RN or LPN license in good standing on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state. CPR certification required. Licenses/credentials must be kept up to date at the employee’s expense. Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.
- Follow through on physician’s orders in accordance with Eventide's policies and procedures.
- Prepare, administer, and/or supervise the administration of medication, treatments and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures. Observe senior/client, watching for any sign of adverse reaction to medications.
- Assess seniors/clients assigned to him/her in regard to physical, mental and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes in a timely manner to immediate supervisor and providing follow‑up with family and physician as directed. Take and accurately record vital signs.
- Diligently observe senior/client skin per Eventide's policies, proactively taking steps to avoid pressure ulcers.
- Complete procedures and document the appropriate information on the senior’s/client’s medical record in a timely manner according to Eventide's policies and procedures. Follow department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
- Provide direction and monitor Med Aides who are delivering medications to seniors/clients. Follow through on the comprehensive care plan as developed for each individual senior/client.
- Provide supervision and education to seniors/clients for the self‑administration of medications. Assist in teaching the senior/client and/or caregiver the necessary skills to allow the senior/client to return to home.
- Assist in writing and implementing a comprehensive nursing plan of care. Update the plan based on changes in the senior/client’s physical and/or emotional state.
Starting pay range is $36.00–$40.32 per hour for RN's and $29.00–$32.48 per hour for LPN's based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available for select positions.
