Registered Nurse (RN)

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a stepdown department. Our unit operates with a focus on providing excellent patient care, including a broad range of medical conditions in patients from young adults to geriatrics.

• Manage a patient load with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• Provide care for patients with various diagnoses including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID-19, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and patients with complex medical issues.
• Titrate drips as necessary, including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Engage in patient admissions, discharges, education, rounding, and care planning, especially with the transition to virtual nursing.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to positive patient experiences through bedside reporting and hourly rounding.

• Active nursing license required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Successful completion of an open book exam during orientation, requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass.
• Previous experience in acute care settings is preferred.

• Number of Beds: 33
• Available support staff includes CNAs, with a ratio of 1:10 when staffing allows.
• Unit operates busy patient flow with admission and discharge within the same timeframe as shift changes.

• Shifts are 12 hours from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700.
• Weekend requirements include every other weekend, with holidays as needed.
• Floating to Med Surg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care may be necessary.

RN staff are required to wear navy blue scrubs.
