Position Summary
Operate, maintain, install, and perform preventive maintenance on all types of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment including large commercial air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, AC split systems, air compressors, and other related equipment. Requires general knowledge of building systems and maintenance relating to commercial HVAC systems. Requires general knowledge of commercial HVAC automatic control systems, building electrical systems, commercial plumbing systems, and all related components.
Requires some experience with commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, and related components. Perform carpentry work throughout campus, such as repairs to doors and door hardware, ceilings, flooring, and classroom seating. This position will be expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness for the facilities maintenance crew. Assist Plant Operators as directed. Perform all duties of that position to include, but not limited to, operating central utilities plant equipment, make rounds and complete operating logs, monitor campus equipment through the energy management systems, note deficiencies and take corrective action.
