Job Summary:

The Class A Driver plays a key role in the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and other building components to customer job sites. This position safely operates company vehicles, secures and transports loads, and assists with unloading materials while ensuring products are delivered accurately and without damage. The Class A Driver provides excellent customer service and maintains a high level of professionalism and safety while representing the company at customer locations and job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
  • Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
  • Organize and secure loads to ensure safe and efficient transport.
  • Verify accuracy of loads with the yard manager before departure.
  • Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from the job site.
  • Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks, trailer-mounted forklifts, and other specialized equipment, including transporting oversized loads and wearing seat belts at all times.
  • Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
  • Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
  • Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and

Qualifications:
  • Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to respond to issues quickly and handle them in a calm, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 4 to 10 hours daily.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and calculator.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class A driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
