Job Title: Operations Support Specialist
Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly
Salary Range: $41,000 - $63,000
Position SummaryThis position will perform, track, and/or complete a wide variety of projects, duties, and system administration functions to support the Bank’s deposit operations. This person must demonstrate proficiency with deposit operations, cash operations and reconciliation. This person will focus heavily on continuous improvement by developing, training and implementing improved workflows and ensure efficiency and consistency throughout the assigned operational areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure that all applicable processes are completed, reports are reviewed and/or reconciled daily, weekly, or monthly. Processes, reports and reconciliations include, but are not limited to:
Daily cash balancing, GL reconciliations, chargebacks, check adjustments, cashier’s checks/money orders, CDARs/ICS balancing, ATM/EFT reconciliation, safe deposit box monitoring, PDPA reconciliation, cash advance balancing, and reviewing holds. - Other tasks include: escheatment, COLTAF, savings bond interest reporting, decisioning non-posts and NSFs, death reclamations, stop payments and ACH returns.
- Support other departments with operational tickets as they are assigned to the operations team.
- Assist with creating and updating internal controls as needed.
- Monitor and report Red Flag activity.
- Assist with closed and dormant accounts, ensuring proper recordkeeping and adherence to applicable regulations.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various topics, including company policies, job‑specific skills, and professional development.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs and design training materials accordingly.
- Use good judgment, discretion, and problem‑solving skills to independently resolve issues and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with the bank’s Return Mail program.
- Perform branch cash audits as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong work ethic, high personal integrity, and willingness to take initiative without prompting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
- Positive, approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating across multiple teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); prior experience with banking systems is a plus.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
