The Apprenticeship Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing program strategies for student outreach, recruitment, retention, and career advising for the CMU Tech’s Registered Apprenticeship Program. The Apprenticeship Specialist reports to the Coordinator of Registered Apprenticeship Programs and acts as a liaison between CMU Tech and industry partners, as well as various local and state organizations. The Apprenticeship Specialist travels locally in support of the Registered Apprenticeship Program and students.
OVERVIEWAND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS
- Assist with outreach, recruitment, and retention of students in CMU Tech’s Registered Apprenticeship Program.
- Participate in trade fairs and make presentations to targeted audiences.
- Develop and foster professional relationships with industry partners, CMU/CMU Tech Departments, Faculty, Advisory Committees members, community groups and students.
- Prepare contracts and payment schedules for apprentices and employers.
- Conduct site visits to ensure state and federal guidelines are being met.
- Review and maintain student evaluations, lesson plans, monthly progress reports and record keeping systems.
- Collaborate with CMU Tech Faculty in course planning and career pathways.
- Assists the Coordinator of Registered Apprenticeship Programs identify new occupations from CMU Tech’s programs and works with them to complete the necessary documents.
