Your OpportunityYour role is to work under the guidance of a Project Engineer. You will be responsible for daily inspection efforts in order to verify and document the contractor’s work complies with project plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Opportunity in Colorado Springs with willingness to take short-term assignments within Colorado, New Mexico, and/or Nevada.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Inspection and documentation of contractor’s work for conformance with the construction documents, including but not limited to: daily reports, quantity tracking, memos to contractors, change orders, and civil rights compliance.
- Monitor and document contractor’s work for compliance with project safety standards, including maintenance of traffic and environmental compliance.
- Review contract documents, project plans & specifications, and assist in progress reports.
- Track pay quantities for the preparation monthly contractor progress payments.
- Attend and participate in weekly project status meetings with the contractor.
- Prepare punch list.
- Monitor and document completion of punch list work.
- Perform and document final inspections.
- Prepare red-lined as‑built drawings.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Familiarity of CDOT publications including the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Construction Manual, and Inspector Checklists.
- Experience providing inspection of road and/ or bridge construction projects.
- CDOT road and/ or bridge construction project experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Solid communication skills and work ethic.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- The ability to work with limited supervision.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- CDOT basic highway math, plan reading, and construction surveying certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
- Certified Paving Inspector (CPI) certification preferred.
- Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification preferred.
- Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor (TECS) certification preferred.
- Position will primarily require working in a field environment which may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
- Position may also include travel for short-term assignments within Colorado, Utah, and/or Nevada.

Pay TransparencyIn compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
