Join Planate Management Group (PMG), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida, with a technical support center in Southeast Asia and East Africa. We provide program management and facilities engineering services globally, supporting the US Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal agencies.

We are looking for a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee the construction operations at the VA Hospital Grand Junction. In this pivotal role, you will ensure adherence to contractual obligations, represent Planate professionally to our clients, and provide essential technical guidance. You will facilitate coordination between construction activities and facility occupants, perform inspections, identify potential risks, and recommend effective solutions.

Your expertise will also be crucial in design reviews and the procurement of materials and equipment.

This role is on-site in Grand Junction, CO, and the project has already been awarded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor teams to ensure successful completion of construction work while maintaining high-quality documentation and inspection practices.
  • Monitor construction methods employed by contractors, providing oversight to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Review contractor submittals for compliance, offering guidance and approvals as necessary.
  • Conduct field inspections to assess workmanship quality and materials used.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with design specifications, applicable codes, and regulations.
  • Identify and track plan deviations, collaborating with the construction team for timely resolution.
  • Implement and oversee safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Review project plans and specifications for technical soundness and practical feasibility.
  • Provide oversight related to constructability and collaborate with various engineering disciplines.
  • Visit project sites to gather information about facility and site conditions, offering recommendations as needed.
  • Assist in developing procurement packages for design and construction initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by the position.
Qualifications for Success
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in civil/construction management, preferably in healthcare or hospital facilities.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is advantageous.
  • Proficient in construction scheduling methods and knowledgeable about building crafts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
