We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Project Manager to join our thriving construction company. This position presents an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self‑starter with a keen eye for detail, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing construction projects within budget and on schedule.
This role requires a candidate with 5+ years of experience in the construction industry and a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.
- Assisting the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the construction project.
- Participating in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for construction projects; providing conceptual estimates, scheduling, and budgeting information.
- Overseeing the submittal process to ensure timely approvals and construction progress.
- Managing RFI responses and maintaining a comprehensive log of all queries and responses.
- Coordinating with contractors, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
- Implementing effective communication plan and operating rhythm, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing with key stakeholders.
- Conducting project review meetings and providing detailed updates to the Project Manager about project progress, potential risks, and mitigation plans.
- Ensuring project adherence to quality standards and reviewing project deliverables to ensure all are up to required standards.
- Identifying, tracking, managing and resolving project issues.
- Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on project management.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in handling RFI responses and managing the submittal process.
- Proven expertise in project scheduling and time management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential risks and devise effective solutions.
- Excellent financial and budgeting skills, with a track record of managing construction projects within budget.
