Summary:
Operating under the direction of the Coordinator, Pre-Expulsion Behavior Support (PEBS), and the day-to-day guidance of the Building Principal, this position provides targeted, classroom-level behavioral support to students on a pre-expulsion remedial discipline track for habitual disruption. This position assists with implementing strategies and interventions outlined in the MTSS Remedial Student Support Plan and supports the consistent, day-to-day execution of Tier 3 behavioral strategies across classroom and school settings.
This role reinforces replacement behaviors, supports student regulation and engagement, collects behavioral data, and collaborates with the Pre-Expulsion and School MTSS Teams to monitor student progress and response to intervention. The position supports both step-up interventions prior to expulsion determination and step-down reentry support for students returning from expulsion or alternative placement.

- MTSS Remedial Plan Strategy Implementation:
Implement behavioral strategies and supports identified in the MTSS Remedial Student Support Plan as directed. Operating under the direction of the Coordinator, Pre-Expulsion Behavior Support (PEBS) and the day-to-day guidance of the Building Principal, reinforce replacement behaviors and targeted skill development. Maintain consistent adult responses aligned with remedial discipline strategies. - Classroom-Level Student Support:
Provide direct support to assigned students within classroom settings. Prompt, cue, and coach students in expected behaviors and regulation strategies. Support engagement, transitions, and task completion. Support behavior stabilization to increase access to instruction. - Behavior Intervention & De-Escalation Support:
Implement Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)-informed strategies as directed. Support student regulation through structured routines, breaks, and reset protocols. Assist with de-escalation using district-approved techniques. Apply trained safety, restraint, and crisis procedures when required and authorized. - Collaboration, Planning, and Progress Reporting:
Provide observational feedback on student behavior, regulation, and response to interventions. Communicate behavior trends, concerns, and progress to the Pre-Expulsion Behavior team and building staff. Assist with implementing step-up and step-down supports as students progress through intervention or reentry phases. - Documentation & MTSS Team Support:
Support documentation within the MTSS Student Support Behavior Plan as directed. Track behavior incidents, participation, and response to interventions. - Other Duties:
Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.
Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of experience working with children and/or students required. Prior experience working with behaviorally challenged students is preferred. School or alternative program experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or CertificationsCriminal background check required for hire. Valid Colorado driver's license or valid Colorado identification required. Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
