Position: Teacher - Science (T135) Closing 7/22/2026

Position Summary

Teacher – Science at GOAL High School in Grand Junction, CO. Full‑time role responsible for providing supplemental instructional support to students, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment, and collaborating with school staff to promote student achievement.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain accountability and build transparent, honest relationships with students and the team.
  • Support students’ classroom engagement by setting clear attendance expectations and documenting attendance using GOAL systems.
  • Utilize daily and weekly engagement data to deliver timely academic interventions for students who are not actively engaged.
  • Communicate regularly with students (daily) and parents (monthly) to provide progress reports, expectations, and coordinate conferences.
  • Provide high‑quality virtual instruction—live and recorded—for individual students and small groups, following GOAL’s instructional guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the needs of IEP, ELP, ALP, and 504 students.
  • Support the implementation of school platforms, assessment tools, and data management systems.
  • Maintain accurate grading and grade books in GOAL LMS (Schoology) with weekly updates.
  • Collaborate with the POD team to identify student needs, set learning goals, and lead to a positive working environment.
  • Participate in daily POD hurdles, state‑wide content team meetings, and PLC activities to analyze student data and improve curriculum.
  • Assist in student discipline and foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain daily student communication and document attendance using GOAL systems.
  • Champion GOAL’s culture of assessment by ensuring student participation and proctoring throughout the year.
  • Utilize pre/post assessment data to monitor and guide academic growth.
  • Analyze student achievement data and administer progress monitoring instruments.
  • Participate in community outreach to recruit new students and build partnerships.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and residence in Colorado.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education or science is required, or
    Highly Qualified as a Colorado Secondary Educator in Science, or a valid Colorado Secondary Teaching License with Science endorsement (preferred).
  • Three to five years of experience working in a school or school system (preferred); at least two years in a high school with at‑risk youth (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of differentiated instruction, learning styles, and challenges for intervention in a blended learning environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching/tutoring capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional strategies and the role of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
  • Experience designing and implementing academic interventions (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience of instruction, testing, data analysis, and curriculum development.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time‑management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and capable of applying problem‑solving skills to technology issues.
  • Ability to serve on collaborative teams and participate in decision‑making processes.
  • Strong work ethic, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and transport students as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting, bending, and traveling; visual acuity and manual dexterity needed.
  • Frequent driving, work with others, computer use, and telephone work.
  • Must be able to maintain a regular on‑site presence; virtual work may be permitted as needed.
  • Must work all scheduled calendar days in Colorado.
