Seeking an experienced Lead A&P Mechanic to oversee aircraft maintenance activities while providing technical leadership and mentorship to a team of maintenance professionals. This position is responsible for coordinating workflow, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met, and assisting with maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on a variety of aircraft. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support production schedules and operational goals.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to maintenance team members.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and aircraft systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair airframe, engine, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Review maintenance work to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical data.
- Complete and review maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with management, quality personnel, and other departments to resolve maintenance issues.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Support aircraft modifications, major repairs, and return-to-service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- Minimum 7 years of hands‑on aircraft maintenance experience.
- Previous corporate/business aviation experience OR leadership experience supervising teams of 5 or more direct reports.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical data.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Must possess strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must have own tools required to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed.
- Previous experience in a Lead Mechanic, Crew Lead, Supervisor, or Team Lead role.
- Experience in an MRO, service center, corporate aviation, military, or commercial aircraft maintenance environment.
- Experience with major inspections, modifications, and heavy maintenance events.
- Ability to lead projects and coordinate multiple maintenance activities simultaneously.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior technicians.
