Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results‑driven Senior Mining Engineer to lead all phases of mine planning and development —from exploration and feasibility through to production and reclamation. Working closely with geologists, environmental engineers, and regulatory stakeholders, you will develop safe, efficient, and sustainable mining plans aligned with corporate strategy.

This is a full‑time, in‑office position based in the Grand Junction area of Northwestern Colorado, with occasional travel. A relocation allowance is available if you’re located outside of the area.

Key Responsibilities Mining Engineering and Project Management
  • Conduct geological surveys, assessments, and feasibility studies to identify and evaluate potential mineral deposits, including estimates of resource quantity and quality.
  • Oversee mine design, development planning, and operational strategies to support efficient, safe, and sustainable resource extraction.
  • Manage mining projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and allocation of personnel and equipment.
  • Monitor project execution, track expenditures, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and environmental regulations, safety protocols, and permitting requirements.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, engineering staff, contractors, and consultants to align project objectives and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, landowners, and external partners to maintain project transparency and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and present clear, concise technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal leadership, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support internal communications by generating project updates, data summaries, and decision‑support materials.
Leadership and Operational Excellence
  • Foster a collaborative, performance‑driven work culture.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, operational efficiency, and cost‑saving measures across mining operations.
  • Research and apply emerging technologies, data tools, and engineering practices to improve mining and resource management outcomes.
Administrative and Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain organized project documentation, records, and archives according to company procedures and regulatory retention schedules.
  • Prepare and submit all required environmental assessments, compliance documentation, permit applications, and operational reports.
  • Support administrative tasks such as resource scheduling, document filing, and internal reporting to ensure smooth operational execution.
