Avionics Repair Technician - 2nd shift - 1473 (Grand Junction, CO, USA)
Responsibilities- Perform general avionics support items on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components and repair work.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
- Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when designated.
- Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations.
- Work with customers in project management, pricing, and customer support roles.
- Complete projects independently.
- Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
- Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
2nd shift:
Monday‑Thursday, 3 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Shift incentive includes a 10–15% premium, paid lunch, 3‑day weekends, formal airframe training, and eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after 3 years.
- Tech I – 0–2 years in avionics, military avionics, or electrical field. Requires close supervision.
- Tech II – 2–4 years in avionics or military avionics. Requires general supervision.
- Tech III – 4–6 years in avionics or military avionics. Limited supervision required; can mentor others.
- Master Technician – 6+ years with corporate/business avionics systems; subject‑matter expert.
High school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or avionics factory training preferred. Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Physical & Mental Requirements- Lifts 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
- Routine repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Standing for long periods.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and perform functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems.
- Work with others professionally.
Hourly rate generally ranges between $22–$35, with additional compensation for shift differential. Other compensation includes a semi‑annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
