Purpose:
Grand Junction HSSE Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental performance of the Grand Junction site, ensuring full compliance with applicable U.S. regulations and Total Energies standards.
- One industrial manufacturing site located in Grand Junction (CO)
- 3 batch units with approx. 3,500 MT/y production of butadiene-based specialty resins (Ricon, Ricobond, Ricacryl)
- Including production units, logistics/warehouses, laboratories (QC/Applications)
- Interface with local contractors and external stakeholders
- Chemical manufacturing environment (high hazard / process safety focus).
- U.S. regulatory framework with strong enforcement requirements.
- Interaction with multiple internal stakeholders and external authorities.
- Industrial site requiring high level of operational discipline and crisis readiness.
Occupational Health & Safety
- Ensures a safe working environment for employees and contractors; drives continuous improvement of safety performance.
- Promotes and enforces Group HSE policies, procedures, and standards on site.
- Maintains incident reporting and tracking (accidents, near-misses, HIPO) and ensures corrective actions.
- Ensures compliance with Hazard Communication standards (SDS, labeling).
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensures compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act).
- Manages permits and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Monitors regulatory changes and assesses impacts on site operations.
- Process Safety & Risk Management
- Leads Process Safety Management (PSM) implementation.
- Conducts and maintains risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP, MOC).
- Leads incident investigations and root cause analysis (REX).
- Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management
- Develops and maintains site emergency response plans.
- Coordinates emergency drills and preparedness exercises.
- Represents the site in crisis management situations.
- Environmental & Sustainability Management
- Ensures compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- Manages emissions reporting, waste management, and environmental performance.
- Implements and drives sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, emissions reduction)
- Maintains Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, One MAESTRO).
- Leads internal and external HSSE audits.
- Ensures implementation and follow-up of improvement plans.
- Contractors & Stakeholder Management
- Ensures contractors comply with HSSE requirements.
- Maintains strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders.
- Represents the site on HSSE matters externally.
- Leadership & Culture
- Promotes a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Coaches managers and employees on HSSE practices and behaviors.
- Supports integration of HSSE into operational decision‑making.

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing operations
- Proven experience in HSSE management in an industrial or chemical environment.
